Virginia Beach Vacations
Just exactly makes Virginia beach an ideal vacation destination? Well, a number of things really.
Besides the clean beaches and the usually warm ocean water, Virginia Beach is only about half a days drive from a number of other hot spots.
For example within a 2 hours day drive from here, you can visit Colonial Williamsburg, the Outer Banks, the Eastern Shore, Richmond (the states capital) and even the legendary Busch Gardens.
And within about 3 - 4 hours you could be at the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian mountains (ideal for seeing the leaves in the fall), or the University of Virginia and Monticello, or Washington DC for that matter. You could also be down in Cape Hatterhas in North Carolina surfing the waves.
Virginia Beach really does have a lot to offer for people looking specifically for Virginia Beach vacations.
There is the sand castle contest which brings serious competitors from all over to make their own incredible sand sculptures.
There are incredible sunrises and sunsets either on the bay or from the oceanside.
Virginia Beach is right on the Chesapeake Bay directly to the north. It allows access to amazingly fresh and tasty seafood and wonderful sushi.
It's also known for it's clean beaches and friendly people...
So if you've been thinking about taking a Virginia Beach vacation then check out our Calendar of Events AND make a weekend or even a week or two out of it.
If you didn't want to stay in a hotel/motel, you could always rent a house in Sandbridge away from the hustle and bustle of the strip and just soak up the rays and salt water.
